The House Freedom Caucus threatened to withhold its support from Donald Trump's attack on health care because -- unbelievably -- they wanted it to make Medicaid even harder for poor and working people to access. Speaker Paul Ryan quickly caved to their demands.
Last night, Ryan introduced a modified version of Trumpcare that allows states to impose work requirements on Medicaid -- and lets them turn the program into a block grant, which would slash federal support and lead to restricted access in GOP-controlled states.
The House is scheduled to vote on this new version of Trumpcare this Thursday, and now that he has the far right-wing on board, Speaker Paul Ryan says he "feels very good" about its chances of passing.
We only have 48 hours to make it clear to House members that voting for Trumpcare is NOT an option if they want to be re-elected in 2018. Can you call Representative Martha McSally now and tell her to vote NO on Trumpcare this Thursday? I just called and spoke to an actual person!
