Proposed cuts mean hundreds of thousands of more asthma attacks, heart attacks, and premature deaths from slashing basic enforcement and cleanup programs, meaning dirtier air and water, all thanks to giant giveaways to corporate polluters.
Luckily, presidents don't set the final budget, Congress does. When Trump and anti-environment radicals tried to make these cuts earlier this year, your calls and emails shut it down-- protecting funding for the EPA, national parks, and clean air and water.[1]
Proposed major cuts in Trump's "fat cat" budget include[2]:
- A 31% cut to EPA's budget, specifically to enforcement and climate programs which will mean more pollution. Also cut-- popular regional cleanup programs to the Great Lakes, Chesapeake Bay, the Gulf of Mexico and even cuts to Superfund.
- An 84% cut to the National Park Service.
- An 88% cut to the US Forest Service.
- An 89% cut to the Bureau of Land Management.
- A 66% to the Fish and Wildlife Service
Our air, our water, our climate, and our public lands belong to all of us. If we don't protect them, more people will get sick, more will die, and we will lose our public lands to greedy millionaires and billionaires who want to drill, frack, and mine in them.
