The opioid epidemic killed 64,000 people last year and is the #1 cause of death for Americans under 50.
This is a PUBLIC HEALTH crisis, yet the government has yet to allocate any funding to address this crisis.
In fact, Trump and Republicans are making it worse by attacking health care programs like Medicaid, the largest funder of opioid treatment and services.
If our legislators are serious about ending the opioid crisis, they need to allocate funds to make opioid treatment safe, affordable, and accessible. That means taking immediate action on the following:
1) Fund real treatment and public health services that address the opioid crisis.
2) Pass the Alexander-Murray health care proposal.
3) Protect Medicaid, the biggest payer of opioid treatment!
Urge your Members of Congress to support real solutions to the opioid crisis now!
Today, the Opioid Network – a coalition of opioid users, health care professionals, grassroots leaders, and other allies – is storming the halls of Congress to protect Medicaid and demand $45 billion in federal funding to expand access to opioid treatment and overdose prevention.
