Support the Parks & Historic Preservation Fund (SB1464)

Arizona's local, regional, and state parks and recreation facilities are economic development generators that encourage the spending of tourist dollars, attract businesses whose workforce choose jobs in locations with quality of life benefits, strengthen community cohesion, and increase property values. Historic preservation initiatives in our rural communities and urban areas promote economic development by creating jobs, revitalizing historic areas, increasing property values, and promoting heritage tourism.

Support the Parks & Historic Preservation Fund (SB1464)

THROUGH AVAILABLE LOTTERY FUNDS, THE $10M/YEAR FUND WILL SUPPORT...

• Recreation & Open Space ~ 44 percent for local, regional, and state outdoor recreation and open space development, restoration, or renovation

• Trails & Education ~ 22 percent for outdoor and environmental education initiatives and local, regional, and state non-motorized trails

• Parks & Natural Areas ~ 17 percent for operation, maintenance, or repair of parks and natural areas

• Heritage Conservation ~ 17 percent for local, regional, and state historic preservation projects

I wish to add my name to the list of Arizonans who support Senate Bill 1464 (parks; historic preservation; lottery fund) to create the Parks & Historic Preservation Fund. Through available Arizona Lottery funds, the $10 million per year Parks & Historic Preservation Fund would support much needed Recreation & Open Space, Trails & Education, Parks & Natural Areas, and Heritage Conservation programs.
