Contact your Representative and tell them to vote no on making the TrumpTax giveaways to the rich permanent

House Republicans are attempting to give even MORE tax cuts to the rich. The TrumpTax is already a massive giveaway to the richest people and wealthiest corporations, while undermining critical middle-class protections and services.

House Republicans are still planning to vote on THREE Tax Scam 2.0 bills this week. These bills would make tax cuts for the rich permanent, add $627 billion to the deficit, and help the GOP justify cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Tell your members of Congress that you won't stand for EVEN MORE tax giveaways to the rich.

Tell your Senators to reject Donald Trump and the GOP's tax plan that cuts taxes for the top 1 percent - at our expense

House Republicans have unveiled their tax plan, and you shouldn’t believe the hype.

They’ll tell you that high-income households won’t receive tax breaks. And that their tax plan will result in higher wages for working people. Both are false.

Thanks to another loophole they’ve added for so-called “pass-through” income, top 1 percent households will receive a massive tax cut. They call this a tax cut for small businesses. That’s also false. According to a recent Treasury Department report, 70 percent of “pass-through” income is claimed by the top 1 percent.

They’ll also claim that lower corporate tax rates will trickle-down to working people. But, across U.S. states, reductions in corporate tax rates are not associated with faster median wage growth. They result in a higher share of income going to the top 1 percent.

Stand with the EPI Policy Center and our partners in rejecting Donald Trump and Republican leaders’ tax plan that benefits corporations and the top 1 percent at the expense of working families. Write to your members of Congress today!

A big tax cut for the rich is just one half of the plan set out in the budget resolution approved by Republicans last month. The other half includes huge cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and other valuable programs that help the most vulnerable.

Instead of tax breaks for hedge funds and private equity firms that are paid for with cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, we need a tax plan that invests in our country’s future.

Write to your members of Congress today and tell them to reject Donald Trump and Republican leaders’ tax plan that cuts taxes for the top 1 percent.

We should be crystal clear on this point: Claims that cutting taxes for rich businesses will trickle-down to boost the wages of typical Americans are baseless. This is a tax cut that starts with the rich and will stick with the rich. America is a rich country that can do much better for working families, but only if the “tax cuts for the rich, first and always” zealotry of today’s Republicans is rejected by the American people and defeated in the halls of Congress.

Call your representative today and tell them to vote NO on Trump’s tax scam

Yesterday, Republican leaders released their tax plan: a government-funded handout to millionaires, billionaires, and big corporations -- at the expense of everyone else.

Paul Ryan and House Republicans delayed releasing their plan for days because they knew it wasn’t ready for prime time. But now it’s here, and it’s worse than we expected.

This half-baked, “trickle-down” plan would make rising income inequality worse -- a lot worse. Paul Ryan knows his plan is unpopular, so he is rushing toward a vote. Your representative could be the key to stopping it -- but they need to hear from you.

Click here to call your representative today and tell them to vote NO on Trump’s tax scam.

Trump’s tax scam is nothing more than a taxpayer-funded handout to billionaires and big corporations at the expense of working families. Call your representative and tell them to vote NO!

Call

Here are three reasons we must stop this bill:
It provides the Trump family a billion-dollar handout, by eliminating the estate tax. (Talk about self-serving!)
It eliminates popular deductions that middle-class families rely on just to slash the tax rate for big corporations.
It opens the floodgates to churches acting like Super PACs by reversing a decades-old law that prevents religious groups from endorsing political candidates.

This bill is terrible, and it should be a non-starter for every member of Congress who’s serious about serving the American people.

The stakes are too high to do nothing.

Call your representative today and tell them to vote NO:

Use a one-click tool to tell Trump, McConnell, and Ryan you're not buying what they're selling on taxes.

Republican leaders emerged from a 5-hour closed-door meeting where they finalized their tax "plan," and now Trump is selling it to the nation.
No matter what Trump says, here's the truth:
The only people the Republicans are trying to help are the rich and massive corporations -- despite new polls showing that 65% of Americans think corporate tax rates are too low and 62% oppose tax cuts for the rich.
Here's what to expect from Trump's speech describing the tax plan:
  • Massive tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, disguised as "simplifying" the tax code
  • Tax giveaways to big corporations, camouflaged as "cutting taxes for small businesses" (the vast majority of which already pay the lowest-possible tax rate)
  • A tax hike for the lowest tax bracket (aka those who can afford an increase in taxes the LEAST)
Trump and his Republican cronies are being so blatantly dishonest about the true implications of their plan because they know how unpopular it is.
But that won't stop them from doing everything they can -- including spending hundreds of millions of dollars -- to rush it through Congress with as little public input as possible. (Seriously: One corporate lobbying group has already pledged $100 million to help make sure it passes.)
That's why we need to make sure they hear our voices loud and clear.
With funding for programs like Medicare and Medicaid on the line, we can't afford to lose this battle.

Sign petition to stop Trump's tax plan now - deadline Monday!

While Trump and the GOP are trying to ram through legislation that guts our health care, they’re also hoping to ram through a disastrous tax plan that will only benefit millionaires and wealthy corporations – at your expense.

To pay for massive tax credits for the richest one percent, they plan to make deep cuts to critical public services our communities depend on, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and education.

The Republican senator leading this giant tax giveaway is Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, who is chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He’s requesting input from Wall Street, corporate lobbyists, and other “experts” on how best to reform the tax system. But Sen. Hatch really needs to hear from key stakeholders like you! We only have until July 17 to respond.

Sign our petition to tell Sen. Orrin Hatch and Congress: No more tax cuts for the wealthy!

Tax loopholes for the wealthy elite already exist, and the GOP’s new plan would only make things worse. If economic inequality is to become a thing of the past, we need to fight back against this uneven system and protect, not cut, services that lift up working families.

We need real tax reform to make sure the wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share – a lot more than they pay now. Our government should then invest those tax dollars in our country’s future – in public roads and transit systems; quality and affordable early childhood education; public schools and higher education; researching new medical cures; and ensuring a secure retirement for all of us by strengthening Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

Send a message to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, and tell him we demand an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. That means the richest Americans need to pay their fair share in taxes!

Let’s drown out the corporate lobbyists and make sure Sen. Hatch hears our collective demand for a fair economy. We only have until Monday to make our voices heard. Please sign our petition now.

Call your members of Congress NOW and tell them to vote "No" on this disastrous tax plan.

Paul Ryan just gave a passionate call to cut taxes of on the wealthy and corporations. I watched his press conference and left these responses.

Easy tax forms would be GREAT. But that doesn't mean not taxing corporations and the richest people the planet has ever known. How do you think they got that way? They don't pay their workers a living wage and they don't pay their taxes .

Our country will never recover from the trillion dollar tax cut they are giving to the rich. That is part of their plan. Then they can sell off our services to their rich friends. They will privatize our highways and bridges - so we will pay for them twice (with the incentives to the banks and continuing tolls.) How do you think Ryan got as rich as he is? He is working for them, not us.

In the fifties corporations and the rich paid more taxes and our economy thrived. That is also true of the states that tax the rich more. The rich don't want to pay anything. They get subsidies and they use up our resources and they use our services - but they don't want to pay for that. Why do you think our infrastructure (which they use for their businesses) is crumbing. They take out, they don't put enough in. And now they want to be taxed even less!

Repealing the estate tax will only benefit the richest families in America. They will not invest that money in the economy. They aren't now. They are hording it and buying our politicians with it. Less than one percent of the population has more money than 90% of Americans combined. This tax plan will just increase that divide.

In order to give these tax cuts to the rich, Trump's budget cuts important services and healthcare for the American people. Working Americans will continue to pay taxes, and not get the services we need.

Please call your members of Congress NOW and tell them to vote "No" on this disastrous tax plan.

Tell Congress: No tax legislation until Trump releases all tax returns

On April 15, over 100,000 protesters took to the streets in dozens of cities to demand Donald Trump finally stop the excuses and release his tax returns. The show of force got under Trump’s skin, forcing him to reroute his motorcade and prompting a Twitter tirade against the protesters – including CREDO members.1

We cannot let this energy fade away. In the coming weeks, Congress is preparing to take up right-wing tax cut plans under the guise of “tax reform.”2 We need to make it clear that no tax legislation should get a second of consideration until Trump releases his tax returns.
Tell Congress: No tax legislation until Trump releases all tax returns

CREDO was a proud supporter of the Tax Day Marches, and CREDO members showed up in force. The people out in the streets know that Trump’s taxes cut the core of so many of the problems with his discredited regime. We have not forgotten Trump admitting in one of the 2016 presidential debates that he dodges taxes, declaring that not paying taxes “makes him smart.”3

Refusing to release the returns reflects an obsession with secrecy and open contempt for democratic norms – after all, every modern president has released their taxes. Trump’s taxes could also reveal his conflicts of interest, ties to foreign interests, potential corruption, history of making money by scamming hardworking Americans and dodging taxes. Given the enormity of potential conflict of interests, Trump owes it to the American people to be as transparent as possible and release any and all of his tax returns.4

Now, Trump is bragging that “we’re going to surprise you” with the speed of tax cut plans.5 Republicans are plotting nothing less than a massive handout to tax-dodging corporations and Wall Street hedge fund billionaires in the name of “overhauling” taxes.

There is no way the public can judge Trump’s tax plans when we don’t know how the so-called president and his businesses stand to personally benefit – and there is no justification for considering tax legislation until every single one of his returns is public.

Every modern president has released his tax returns even while going through the automatic yearly audits required for the president and vice president. Trump’s excuses that he couldn’t release returns while under an audit were always hogwash, but are even more outrageous now that he is in office.6

Americans need to get the truth about Trump’s business dealings, his claims of extreme wealth, how he truly makes his money, what tax loopholes he is using to dodge taxes and the tax rate he actually pays. As Congress starts considering massive tax cuts for corporations and Wall Street billionaires, the American people deserve to know how much Trump stands to personally profit from Republican tax plans.

Tell Congress: No tax legislation until Trump releases all tax returns.

Trump's first 100 days of "transferring political power back to the people." Um...what people?

Somehow I got on the CONSTITUTIONALLY e-mail list. I was curious, so I checked out their statement from President Trump...

"In my first 100 days, I kept my promise to Americans One hundred days ago, I took the oath of office and made a pledge: We are not merely going to transfer political power from one party to another, but instead are going to transfer that power from Washington, D.C., and give it back to the people."

What people? He certainly isn't listening to me or the millions of people who are protesting his policies. Since Trump has taken office, I have been diligently following his speeches and actions. His executive orders, the massive tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans, and his budget cuts to the EPA and organizations that help low income Americans is proof that he is giving power back to the wealthiest 1% - including those he has appointed to his cabinet.

I may have just gotten myself on Trump's trouble-makers list because I responded in the comment section with a quote from former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich:

Trump is transferring power (money) that supports services for the American people to the richest Americans. "It’s the biggest declaration of class warfare – Trump’s class against average Americans -- in history.

Trump won’t just cut corporate taxes from 35 percent to 15 percent – a huge boon to the shareholding class (remember, the richest 10 percent of Americans holds 80 percent of the entire value of the stock market). He’d also cut the individual taxes paid by partners in hedge funds, private-equity firms, and real estate empires like, um, Trump’s — from 39.6 percent to 15 percent. This is a giant windfall to the richest of the rich. And he’d repeal the estate tax – paid by the richest 2 percent. Oh, did I say that Trump is now proposing another repeal of Obamacare that would save America’s wealthy another $300 billion a year in taxes?

The biggest winners: Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Robert Mercer (Steve Bannon’s funder at Breitbart) and his daughter Rebekah, who is bankrolling a super PAC airing pro-Trump ads, along with Steven Mnuchin and all the other billionaires Trump brought into the his administration, including Gary Cohn, Rex Tillerson, and Betsy DeVos, as well as others on Wall Street and in corporate suites."

I got this good matured response:

Good Lord Woman - Get some faith in others- To me you are 90 % wrong with every thought you have...

My response to his response...

Everyday I follow President Trump actions and the bills being proposed in Congress. I listen to Trump's speeches and then I do my duty as an American citizen and research it further - to find out how those bills will affect me and the American people. My comment is a quote from an expert in finance, former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich. I found other sources that confirm his position. I don't expect you to take my word from it. But, please, do some independent research from unbiased resources (rather than the conservative or liberal slanted news sources.) I would greatly appreciate it.

So... if I disappear...you know why. lol

URGENT! What you need to know about Trump's tax reform plan before it's too late!

Robert Reich's statement is a "MUST READ!"

Trump’s Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, former hedge fund manager and Goldman Sachs partner, calls it the “biggest tax cut and largest tax reform in the history of our country.”

In reality, it’s the biggest declaration of class warfare – Trump’s and Mnuchin’s class against average Americans -- in history.

The biggest winners: Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Robert Mercer (Steve Bannon’s funder at Breitbart) and his daughter Rebekah, who is bankrolling a super PAC airing pro-Trump ads, along with Steven Mnuchin and all the other billionaires Trump brought into the his administration, including Gary Cohn, Rex Tillerson, and Betsy DeVos, as well as others on Wall Street and in corporate suites.

The biggest losers: Average working Americans -- many of whom voted for Trump -- who will now have fewer government services, and whose taxes will be paying more interest on a higher federal debt (much of which is owed to the rich, like Trump, who hold some of their fortunes in government bonds).

Trump has just declared class warfare against the people who voted for him, and most of the rest of us, too. It's our responsibility to sound the alarm far and wide.

Trump's tax plan slashes taxes for wealthy banks and Wall Street CEOs.

Tax Day is a time when individuals and small businesses do our part to fund public education and healthcare, safe communities and reliable transportation systems, and so much more. It’s our patriotic duty. But while we’re paying our fair share of taxes, Wall Street banks are using a rigged system to avoid paying billions of dollars in taxes each year.

Between 2008 – 2015 the nine largest and most profitable U.S. banks avoided paying about $80 billion in federal income taxes by using various loopholes their lobbyists helped get put into the tax code. And Donald Trump’s tax plan would make it even worse.

Under Donald Trump’s tax plan:

*The corporate tax rate would be slashed from 35% to 15%―saving the six largest U.S. banks a combined $12 billion annually.

*Banks that stash huge profits offshore would be allowed to bring those profits home at a fraction of the price―saving the six largest U.S. banks an estimated $25 billion in taxes.

*Hedge fund managers and Wall Street CEOs would see a two-thirds cut in their individual tax rates―equaling a $1.5 trillion tax giveaway mostly to Wall Street billionaires and the richest 1 percent.

- compiled by Daily Kos

Tell Congress that it’s time for Wall Street to pay its fair share!

Sample e-mail to your Congress members...

Each year, Wall Street banks and CEOs and hedge fund managers avoid paying billions of dollars in taxes thanks to a rigged tax system written by Wall Street lobbyists. Stand up to the big banks and Wall Street billionaires and say NO to tax plans that would make this rigged system even worse with massive tax giveaways and more loopholes for banks and billionaires. We need tax reform that makes Wall Street pay its fair share while leveling the playing field for working families and Main Street businesses. We pay our fair share in taxes. So should Wall Street billionaires.
