Remember when you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you in LA? 

With a tweet, President Trump is trying to pollute the air you breathe. In what has become his signature move, today President Trump announced via Twitter that he plans to revoke your state's ability to protect the air you breathe.  Tell your members of Congress to co-sponsor Rep. DeSaulnier and Senator Harris's resolution to protect state authority to set vehicle greenhouse gas emissions standards. NOTE: For more impact don't forget to personalize the subject line and leave a personal message! Under the Clean Air Act, California has the ability to set standards for vehicles to reduce pollution. Other states can then adopt these standards to help protect you and the air you breathe.  Now, Trump and his cronies in the EPA and the Department of Transportation are attacking that authority. California's rules have helped states clean their air, save their residents money at the pump, and reduce climate pollution. The only people that will benefit from this attack on state authority are oil companies.  Members of Congress need to take action and oppose Trump's attack on clean air.  Congress standing up to this outrageous action by the Trump administration is one of the strongest actions we can take.  Tell your members of Congress to co-sponsor Rep. Finally! Some good news from the EPA! ----- A Win Against Dirty Trucks

We did it! More than 14,000 UCS supporters weighed in with acting EPA Administrator Wheeler and told him to do the right thing on dirty trucks...and it worked!

Andrew Wheeler, acting administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has just announced that he won’t follow former Administrator Scott Pruitt in giving super polluting trucks a temporary pass on pollution regulations.

This is an important victory for science-based decision making–and science champions like you played a critical role.

With new shiny shells but old dirty engines, these dirty trucks (or glider vehicles) only make up five percent of the freight fleet, but they emit a third of the pollution for ALL long-haul trucks. And the toxic pollution emitted from these vehicles could cause at least 1,600 premature deaths every year and is hundreds of times more pollution than from new trucks. It’s safe to say that this is a win for public health—especially for folks who live in proximity to trucking corridors.

We may have won this battle, but we aren’t completely out of the woods just yet. The rule to limit the pollution from these vehicles is still under threat, but acting Administrator Wheeler has the power to do the right thing. We’ll be looking to science champions like you to help us push him to, once and for all, kill these dirty trucks. But for now, let’s savor this victory and celebrate!

TELL BILL FORD AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY: NO U-TURN ON EMISSIONS STANDARDS

It’s simple: If you clean up vehicle emissions, you cut down on carbon pollution. (In a big way!)

Transportation is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the US. In fact, cars and trucks alone account for over one-quarter of all US emissions. It’s got to change.

Americans want it to change. Nearly 90 percent of Americans want automakers to continue to improve fuel economy – leading to less emissions – and support strict government standards, according to a recent Consumer Reports survey.

The Obama Administration listened and worked with automakers like Ford Motor Company to develop ambitious but achievable fuel efficiency standards for new cars and trucks that would prevent 6 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2025. Even better, these standards would save American families $1.7 trillion in fuel costs.

Ford was part of the solution. But now the company is pulling a U-turn and working with President Trump and his cabinet of Big Oil insiders to roll back these critical standards.

We say no way.
