Petition to Congress:
"Raise wages and fight inequality by passing the Workplace Democracy Act, which would ban 'Right to Work for Less' laws, make it harder for corporations to interfere in the decision to create a union, and protect workers from loopholes that allow companies to pay less and offer fewer benefits."

Conservatives on the Supreme Court are mounting a war on working people. They have already banned workers from joining together to sue employers for violations of federal law. Soon, they may attempt to decimate public sector unions.1
The results of the decades-long Republican attack on working people are already clear. Anti-union states see lower wages and fewer benefits for all workers, not just those in a union. Today, only 11 percent of workers belong to a union, down from nearly one-third 60 years ago, even though support for unions is at an all-time high. Inequality is skyrocketing as corporate CEOs face less pressure to distribute profits to workers and instead pocket the money for themselves.2
Progressive champions Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Mark Pocan are fighting back with a new bill – the Workplace Democracy Act – that takes power out of the hands of greedy bosses and puts it back in the hands of working people.3 This is the type of bold legislation that should form the backbone of the Democratic agenda, so we need to get behind it in a big way.
Donald Trump wants us to put the blame for low wages on immigrants and bad trade deals in order to protect the Wall Street puppet masters he has always admired. Sanders and Pocan – along with a host of House and Senate Democrats who have co-sponsored the bill – are putting the focus right where it belongs and exposing Trump's phony populism in the process.
If people can quit a bad job for better pay and benefits at a union worksite, companies face pressure to raise wages for everyone. Corporations know this and target unions directly – hurting every single person who works for a living, hourly and salaried, union and non-union, in the so-called “right to work” states and the states that value working people.4
Every time we get behind a bill like this, it exposes Trump's agenda, aligns Democrats with the progressive base of the party and builds momentum for the future. We need to speak out now.
The Workplace Democracy Act would undo much of the damage of this long corporate crusade against unions: allowing a union to form if a majority of workers demand one, banning race-to-the-bottom "right to work for less" laws, outlawing deceptive and delaying tactics companies use to undermine unions, making sure workers know if their employers are running anti-union ads, and making sure corporations cannot get away with misclassifying workers as independent contractors or supervisors just to avoid paying them benefits or overtime.5
Union workers make more, get hurt on the job less, receive better benefits, have a more secure retirement and are less likely to be victims of wage theft. Black and Latinx workers, in particular, get a particularly large pay boost from joining a union.6 In short, unions are good for unionized workers, good for non-union workers, and are an antidote to skyrocketing wealth, income and racial inequality. We need strong unions – and that starts with legislation protecting workers' rights.

Tell Congress: Stand up for workers' rights
Tell your reps in Congress that cutting protections for those with pre-existing conditions is unacceptable
After cutting taxes for wealthy corporations and the rich, the Trump administration is now trying to cut the Affordable Care Act's protections. This time, they're trying (yet again) to rip away health care from over 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions.
And get this -- they're using the TrumpTax to justify this heartless decision. Their ridiculous claim: because the TrumpTax repealed one key part of the Affordable Care Act, the rest of the law is now unconstitutional.
Use our one-click tool to tell your reps that saving health care for those with pre-existing conditions is more important than tax cuts for the rich!
When Republicans passed the TrumpTax, we knew that they would try to pay for it by cutting the vital services that so many Americans depend upon. We saw that with their proposed cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and to the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
We know they'll be going after Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security next, but in the meantime, the latest victims of the TrumpTax are folks who have pre-existing conditions like cancer, asthma, and diabetes.
If you or someone you know is one of the 130 million Americans with a pre-existing condition, now is your moment to speak out!
Send an email to your representatives in Congress to tell them that cutting protections for those with pre-existing conditions is totally unacceptable.
Tell your reps that protecting health care for those with pre-existing conditions is more important than tax cuts for millionaires!

Tell the Trump regime: Don't frack the Little Colorado River
The petition to the Bureau of Land Management reads:
"Don't frack the Little Colorado River basin."
Add your name:

Back in January, Trump issued a set of policies to fast-track oil and gas fracking on our public lands.1 Now we're seeing the awful results.
The Trump administration plans to auction off 4,200 acres around the Little Colorado River for oil and gas development.2 Thanks to Trump's reckless pro-fossil fuel policies, officials are planning to sell drilling rights to this public land without any public input, tribal consultation or environmental review.
Our public lands are not for fracking and they are not for sale. Earlier this year, activists were successful in forcing the Trump regime to cancel the sale of oil and gas leases on our public lands at Chaco Canyon in New Mexico.3 With enough pressure, we can do it again.
Tell the Trump regime: Don't frack the Little Colorado River basin. Click here to sign the petition.
The northern Arizona lands slated for fracking are within three miles of Petrified Forest National Park. Drilling and fracking in the area threatens to deplete and pollute groundwater in the Little Colorado River basin and harm the habitat for threatened species.4
But for Trump, selling off drilling rights is the only priority when it comes to our public lands. Trump policies require agency officials to “ensure quarterly oil and gas lease sales are consistently held.”5 Any time the oil and gas industry proposes public lands to frack, the Bureau of Land Management is required to act quickly to process the auction.6 Public participation is no longer mandatory, and the public has only 10 days to protest a lease once it's finalized.7
But we have the power to stop this. We know because the Trump administration halted a similar sale just months ago at Chaco Canyon. Department of the Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said he paused the sale because “there have been some questions raised.”8 In other words, we raised our voices so loud he could no longer ignore us.

Please call Congress and tell your lawmakers to overturn the FCC and restore net neutrality
On Monday, June 11: the FCC's repeal of net neutrality took effect.
You may not notice any changes immediately. We don't know exactly when or how AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast will start throttling speeds and creating fast and slow lanes on the internet.
But we know it's coming. And that's why we need to force the House to save net neutrality.
Thanks to activists like you, a bipartisan majority of senators voted to overturn the FCC and save net neutrality.
Now the fight is in the House, where we are gaining more support for the CRA resolution by the day. But we still need dozens more reps to sign a discharge petition to force a floor vote.
The pundits and Big Cable lobbyists said we could never win the CRA resolution in the Senate.
We flooded the Senate with millions of calls and emails from constituents -- and we got all 49 members of the Democratic caucus, along with three Republicans, to pass the CRA. It’s going to be an uphill climb, but if we make sure our representatives hear us loud and clear, we can win in the House too.
86% of Americans oppose the repeal net neutrality, including a huge majority of Republicans. With multiple Senate Republicans voting to overturn the FCC, we have a strong shot of winning the House if we get the support of all Democrats and about two dozen Republicans.
We proved the pundits wrong once, and will prove them wrong again. But we need to raise our voices and make sure every representative knows you expect them to stand on the side of Team Internet, and not Team Cable.
Tell the House: Sign the discharge petition and bring the CRA resolution to the floor for a vote today!

Tell Congress: Block any bill that would supercharge Trump's war on immigrants
The petition to Congress reads:
"Block the Securing America's Future Act, Border Security and Immigration Reform Act and any bill that would supercharge the Trump administration's attacks on immigrant families and children."
Add your name:
| ||
Republicans are doubling down on Donald Trump's anti-immigrant agenda.
While immigration agents are tearing apart families and locking up children at the border, Paul Ryan and members of his party are pushing two xenophobic bills through the House that would supercharge Trump's war on immigrants.1,2 Both bills include provisions to protect Dreamers in exchange for measures that would destroy our countries immigration system and institutionalize Trump's hate.
To protect our immigrant family members, friends and neighbors, we must make clear to every member of Congress that a vote for these bills is a vote to ramp up Trump's reign of terror. Add your name now.
Republicans' latest legislative push is another desperate attempt to appease the racist bigot who is leading their party and currently occupying the Oval Office. Rep. Bob Goodlatte's Securing America's Future Act and Paul Ryan's Border Security and Immigration Reform Act would give Trump the majority of his anti-immigrant wish list. They would:3,4
Paul Ryan released a draft of his bill last week and said it would end Trump's cruel family separation policy, but all it would do is allow some asylum seekers to be jailed with their children.5 Immigrant families are not enemies of the state. None of them belong behind bars.
These anti-immigrant reforms could hurt tens of thousands of immigrant families, but the white supremacist in chief is still not satisfied. On Friday, Trump announced that he would not support Paul Ryan's bill because it was not extreme enough.6 Next week, negotiations will continue and Republicans could cave to Trump's demands and add more dangerous provisions to these bills before they vote. We must do everything we can to block them.
With Attorney General Jeff Sessions' decision to revoke asylum protections for survivors of domestic violence and gang violence7 and his new directive to criminally charge8 all undocumented immigrants, any bill that expands Trump's deportation army and ends core immigration programs would put more immigrant families and children behind bars. It's up to us to make sure Congress fights back.
Every member of Congress must make a choice: Will they help stop Trump's reign of terror on immigrant communities and block these bills or collaborate with his racist regime and help it terrorize families and children? Whether they choose to be on the right side of history is up to us. Speak out now.
Tell Congress: Block any bill that would supercharge Trump's war on immigrants. Click the link below to sign the petition.

Tell the White House Council on Environmental Quality: Defend NEPA
The petition to Ted Boling, associate director for the National Environmental Policy Act, White House Council for Environmental Quality, reads:
"Preserve the National Environmental Policy Act. Do not adopt any regulatory changes that restrict public participation, prevent agencies from objecting to plans or proposing alternatives, limit the role of the EPA to protect air quality, or otherwise weaken NEPA."
Add your name:
| ||
Trump has been systematically eliminating environmental protections since he got to the White House. Now he's going after the “Magna Carta of environmental law."1
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is the original law requiring the federal government to minimize its effects on the environment. It is extremely effective and it paved the way for many of the environmental policies we have today – so it's no wonder that Trump wants NEPA gone.
Trump can't repeal laws on his own, but he has directed the White House Council on Environmental Policy to consider changes to NEPA regulations.2 We must let them know that any change that weakens NEPA is unacceptable – and we will resist loudly and often.
Nearly 50 years ago, NEPA established the first national legal framework for protecting our environment. Under NEPA, federal agencies must consider the environmental impact of planned projects and take public input into consideration. By requiring agencies to consider less-destructive alternatives to initial project proposals, NEPA has saved billions of dollars and avoided countless environmental disasters.3
In the 1990s, Michigan's state transportation department wanted to build a four-lane highway across important wetlands. Using NEPA, concerned residents forced it to consider alternatives. The state ended up expanding an existing highway instead, saving 1.5 billion and protecting the wetlands.4
Trump wants to limit the agencies' ability to recommend less-harmful alternatives.5 He wants to limit the EPA's ability to object to projects because of the air pollution they would cause.6 He's setting the stage to get rid of NEPA all together – a dream of big polluters and the far-right Heritage Foundation.7
Republicans like to claim that NEPA makes government projects inefficient, but multiple expert studies show that NEPA is rarely the cause of project delays.8 In fact, more than 95 percent of projects subject to NEPA go through a short review process of a few days to months.9Less than one percent of NEPA projects ever end up requiring environmental impact statements.10
In reality, the Republican attack on NEPA is "part of a broad deregulatory agenda that prioritizes business interests over public benefits from environmental protection."11 They are more than happy to sell out nearly 50 years of environmental progress to make more money for their industry friends. To stop them, we make it too politically costly to destroy NEPA. We must stand up to defend our right to speak up about the decisions that affect our communities and environment.
Tell the White House Council on Environmental Quality: Preserve NEPA. Click the link below to sign the petition:
