Call Sen. Sinema: End U.S. support for Saudi-led war in Yemen

The United States has quietly assisted Saudi Arabia in its war in Yemen for years. This week, the Senate is voting on a resolution to end U.S. support for this devastating war this week and your senator, Kyrsten Sinema, is a key vote. Will you call her now?

The Yemen War Powers Resolution was passed by the Senate in December and then reintroduced to the new Congress in January. It recently passed the House. Now, we need the new Senate to vote yes again. A vote this week to end United States support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen has a good chance of passing if key senators – including your senator, Kyrsten Sinema – hear from their constituents today.
With support from the United States, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are deliberately using starvation as a weapon of war in Yemen and allowing diphtheria and cholera to ravage the country.1 The Saudi-led war has already killed an estimated 85,000 Yemeni children.2  Right now, 14 million Yeminis are on the brink of starvation. If the United States ends its support for the war, we could see a rapid de-escalation that would allow much-needed food and humanitarian support into the country.3
U.S. tax dollars are directly financing this Saudi-led war, even though Congress – whose responsibility it is to debate, vote on and authorize military action – has not authorized U.S. involvement. Now it's time for our elected representatives to reclaim their power and rein in our devastating role in this war.
We only have a few days to make sure Sen. Sinema will vote the right way. Will you call her now to demand her support for S.J. Res. 7? Click the link below to get started with your call:

REVIEW SCRIPT

Hi, my name is ______________, the Senator's constuent for Tucson, AZ. I’m calling to ask Sen. Sinema to vote for the Yemen War Powers Resolution to end U.S. support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

The Saudis rely on American support and American-made weapons for their devastating war that is killing civilians, destroying crops, cutting off access to ports, and wreaking havoc on the people of Yemen.

Can I count on the senator to vote for S.J.Res.7 to end U.S. support for this devastating war?
